ADEPT/NE webinar: Launch of the Natural England EXPLORE Framework

Tuesday 10th March - Launch of the Natural England EXPLORE Framework

Local authorities face increasingly complex challenges: improving health and wellbeing, protecting nature and driving sustainability, all while making decisions under pressure and with limited resources. The EXPLORE Framework is a practical, evidence-based framework for integrated planning.

It’s designed to help local authority users bring the four outcomes of Health and Wellbeing, Nature, and Sustainability together, test intervention ideas, and work through trade-offs in a practical, collaborative way.

EXPLORE will be hosted on the Local Partnerships website. It has 4 components, which have been co-developed with pilot local authorities including Surrey and Norfolk County Councils, and Liverpool City Region Combined Authority.

  • Data dashboards present high-level strategic data on Health and Wellbeing, Nature and Sustainable outcomes for each local authority, in an easy-to-understand format.
  • ‘Factor maps’ - diagrams show what matters for improving the outcomes in a common and accessible format, which supports cross-departmental conversations.
  • Plain English ‘horizon scanning cards’, to provoke conversations about future proofing.
  • Facilitation Package which underpins these components, guides creative conversation and relationship-building, and enables users to step above process to focus on shared goals for their planning and decision-making.

In our upcoming launch webinar – 130-3pm, 10 March - we’ll hear from Natural England’s EXPLORE project team, along with several of the partners who have contributed to the Framework’s co-development through iterative piloting. We’ll also be joined by a guest speaker from Local Partnerships, whose trained facilitators will support users by convening and structuring workshops and enabling effective collaboration.
