HTMA Innovate & Develop event

The Asset Evolution, will showcase innovative strategies proposing a fundamental transformation of ways in which highways services are resourced, delivered and managed to ensure sustainability.

It will provide attendees with an opportunity to hear about the dynamic range of new models and innovative thinking, around highways service funding and delivery, which are being scoped by highway authorities that constitute the FHRC.  The presentations and discussions will look at the practicalities of such ideas, where they merge with established provider practice, or where both may have to adapt or change to ensure effective and efficient highways maintenance and management.

What’s on the Agenda?

  • Value for Money Assurance

How are the best performing highways authorities delivering continuous value for money improvements?  Presenting those tools and case studies examining the lessons learnt, we look at how systems can be evolved to sustain service and value.

  • Developing a Commercial Portfolio

Disruption, technology and greater commercial acumen offer the opportunity for cost neutrality in highways maintenance, but what does this mean in practice and in terms of the management of the asset and delivery of sustainable maintenance?

  • Managing Stakeholder expectations

Satisfying the expectations of stakeholders whether service users, operators, funders or managers is a multi-faceted challenge, especially in a time of constant resource constraint.  How can this be done better to drive positive outcomes?

  • Devolving services to community level

In reality, what does this concept mean and how can cost efficiencies and better outcomes be achieved through enhanced community engagement?

  • Mutuality & Enhanced Collaboration

Achieving better outcomes for the partners and the partnership.  What is the next stage of collaboration?  Looking beyond standards and setting a new bar; what are the expectations and demands?
