Getting Home Safely: Why considering the safety of women and girls is crucial for inclusive transport and spaces
AtkinsRéalis’ Getting Home Safely initiative was founded on the belief that everyone deserves to feel safe in public spaces and on transport services. However, as planners and designers, there is not enough evidence available on what interventions best support this. In this session we will share the findings from our 2024 survey that sought to build a deeper understanding of what features impact our perception of safety whilst travelling and using public spaces. Kelly Cary and Adrienne Mathews will explore how this differs between demographic groups, and why this evidence is crucial to enable inclusive transport and public spaces.
This session is open to ADEPT members and corporate partners only. Non-members will not be admitted.
