Lunch & Learn Sustainable Procurement - slide pack

As councils work to deliver their strategies to tackle the climate and nature emergencies, many are looking beyond their own direct emissions and activities to harness their buying power – individually and collectively – to make an even bigger impact.
Green or sustainable procurement can help Place Directors and their colleagues across the organisation deliver on their climate and nature ambitions by ensuring that spending on goods, services and infrastructure meets these wider objectives as well as achieving value for money. There are opportunities to engage with producers and suppliers to deliver sustainability through markets and down supply chains.
ADEPT is keen to work with partners to promote good practice and practical help. Our expert speakers have developed toolkits for this: Sustainable Procurement Ltd was commissioned by the LGA to produce their recent Toolkit, and Eunomia was commissioned by the York & North Yorkshire LEP to develop practical guidance for councils in their area.
In this session, held on 25th February, our speakers described the tools available to councils and suggested how they might be used together to best effect.
