Wanted - Deputy CEO!

Are you seeking a unique opportunity to contribute to the achievement of ADEPT’s ambitious objectives and outcomes, to create resilient communities in a time of change?

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join the Association of Directors of Environment, Economy, Planning & Transport (ADEPT) as Deputy CEO.

The successful candidate will support the CEO in their role as lead officer for the Association. They will work closely with the Leadership Team, secretariat and members on a wide range of issues including policy, research, learning & development, communications and events. They will build strong collaborative relationships with colleagues in government, public agencies, corporate and commercial partners, and a wide range of professional and voluntary organisations to help Influence policy development and delivery and to make the case for further devolution and improved funding for local authorities.

The successful applicant should have:

  • Excellent communication, networking, partnership and organisational skills.
  • Ability to think strategically across the key agendas and specialisms represented within ADEPT.
  • Financial acumen, business planning and programme delivery experience.
  • Technical / policy understanding of one or more of the key issues in relation to the environment, economy, planning & transport agendas.
  • Drive, determination and enthusiasm to deliver positive results.

Salary: £53,126 - £57,877 p.a

Please note that whilst East Sussex County Council is the host for this role, the post reports to the CEO of ADEPT and will only work on ADEPT issues.
