The Flood and Water Management Act (2010) – Schedule 3 and the Sustainable Drainage Approval Body (SAB)
In January 2023 Defra announced its recommendation to implement Schedule 3 of the Flood and Water Management Act 2010 and the creation of Sustainable Drainage Approval Body (SAB) within Unitary and County Councils. With the imminent Consultation from Defra on how this is to be achieved and the short time scale for its implementation are Local Authorities prepared to create and deliver this new service area and take on the additional risks associated with it. The presentation will highlight the challenges, skills and details of the SAB and highlight an approach we have used with clients to enable awareness and support the development of the SAB within their organisation.
