Woodland Creation Accelerator Fund – case studies published and conference update
In November 2022, 57 local authorities across England were awarded nearly £10 million to accelerate woodland and tree planting plans.
Promoted by ADEPT, on behalf of Defra and the Forestry Commission, the Woodland Creation Accelerator Fund is providing local authorities with financial support to boost capacity and resource, helping them to employ, train up and bring on board professional expertise to drive and accelerate tree planting and woodland creation commitments.
We have just published two case studies highlighting progress and showcasing some of the Fund’s impactful work to date. You can read the case studies here and here.
In addition, ADEPT hosted the Woodland Creation Accelerator Fund Conference in Birmingham on 3rd July 2024. The conference was a great success, bringing together over 80 local authority members to enable knowledge sharing, collaboration and discussions.
Feedback from the event was really positive with fantastic engagement and enthusiasm from everyone in the room. ADEPT and The Forestry Commission will be looking at how we can take forward all the great work that was displayed, as well as the outputs from the breakout rooms.
